Curriculum

The School’s curriculum consists of General Courses and Major Courses and includes Seminars that students take during each of their four years of study.

1. General Courses

General Courses are largely divided into three areas: Career Planning, Academic Skills for the Age of Globalization, and Liberal Arts.

1) Career Planning
Designed to help students to develop basic study habits, including being proactive in their learning and campus life, and an attitude toward lifelong learning, which will be necessary in their future lives and careers.
2) Academic Skills for the Age of Globalization
Designed for first-year students to acquire the basic skills required to pursue studies in the University, and divided into three areas: Japanese/English, Foreign Languages, and Statistics and IT.
3) Liberal Arts
Designed to broaden students’ interests and knowledge, and divided into two areas: Humanities and Special Subjects for University of Hyogo.

2. Major Courses

Major Courses consist of three types of courses: Introductory, Intermediate, and Advanced. GBC Course titles are here.

Seminars

Students take a seminar in each semester of their four years of study. Due to the small class size, students can more easily participate actively in class, presenting material and leading discussions, under the direction of a professor.

Basic Seminar

For acquiring basic academic skills

Project Seminar I, II

For identifying, analyzing, and exploring solutions to problems and issues
For learning how to communicate and work in a team

Research Seminar I, II, III

For studying specialized fields and methodologies

Thesis Seminar I, II

For carrying out academic research
For presenting your research and making an oral defense
