The science cafe, unlike a normal lecture or symposium, is an effort to create a venue where experts in the field of science can drink coffee and have casual conversations with everyday people.

The title of this cafe, provided by Associate Professor Taniguchi, was “Can You Understand Clouds with a Computer? 　- Discussion of Weather Forecasting for Disaster Prediction -”.

Participants actively exchanged opinions and engaged in Q&A regarding the current state of climate change, scientific grounds that sometimes make incorrect predictions in weather forecasts, and about application to disaster prevention and disaster resilience.
