Study activity group “Sparkle” Koto Strategy with Natural Science Workshop - Animals near Koto -

The study group activity organization “Sparkle” was started with the aim to bring sparkle to the region while making use of the characteristics of the region. Student volunteers at the School of Science, University of Hyogo communicate information about the fields that they are skilled in and in which they are active daily to local residents and researchers, while deepening cultural exchange.

For volume three, a joint activity was held at Koto Plaza with the Natural Research Association of the University of Hyogo, where students gave explanations about the abundance of plants and animals that live in Koto and the surrounding regions.

This event was hosted in cooperation with Junior High School of University of Hyogo and with the Natural Science Department of the High School of University of Hyogo. It has been said that Koto and the Tsunokame region are a treasure trove of numerous animals.

It was a fun event where students and local citizens learned about the various lifeforms that they didn’t know lived near them. Reference materials, slides, as well as originally created samples were used to explain the plants, insects, aquatic animals, and birds.

Sparkle will continuously develop projects and events for promoting exchange in the Koto region and, incorporating regional exchange, will communicate the appeals of Koto.
