Participated in the “Espec 50-year Forest Second Tree Festival”

[Institute for Nature and Environment] 2023.12.12

In August 2022, the University of Hyogo and Espec Corp. entered into a collaboration agreement to work together to promote SDGs. The Institute for Nature and Environment (field of nature and environment) collaborates with Espec Corp. to preserve biodiversity. For example, the institute provides research-related support for a project tackled by Espec Corp., “Espec 50-year Forest Creation”.

On Saturday, November 18, the second tree festival was held at a tree planation in Sanda City. Specially-Appointed Professor Sato of the SDGs Office, Institute for Nature and Environment, planted Japanese red pine trees, pin oaks, wild cherry blossoms, and other varieties with Espec Corp. and participants from their affiliate companies. Let’s imagine what kind of forest will exist there 50 years from now.

The institute will continue working with other institutions and will expand various initiatives.
