The student group activity organization “Sparkle” was started with the aim to bring sparkle to the region while making use of the characteristics of the region.

Student volunteers at the School of Science, University of Hyogo communicate information about the fields that they are skilled in and in which they are active daily to local residents and researchers, while deepening cultural exchange.

The group’s sixth activity was a joint project with Fureai Sports Koryukan at Koto Plaza in Koto.

It was a project where anyone, regardless of their age, could get in shape to live a healthy life every day.

The activity consisted of two groups: participants who have some degree of physical strength and would like to make their bodies more healthy and flexible, and those who are not confident about their physical strength but are thinking about trying or starting some sort of physical activity.

Both groups received physical education from instructors at the Fureai Sports Koryukan.

Participants of all ages, from elementary school students to elderly residents, learned stretches and calisthenics that they can easily do at home.

Instructors also talked to participants about their daily exercise habits. The event was extremely useful for helping participants live a healthy life.

Sparkle will continuously develop projects and events for promoting exchange in the Koto region and, incorporating regional exchange, will communicate the appeals of Koto.
